Diet

Parrots eat a range of different foods in the wild. It would be impossible to exactly match the variety of foods that they consume naturally, but we should at least try. As a rough guide a parrot's daily diet should consist of fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, soaked pulses and a good quality parrot mix / parakeet mix (which does not have too much sunflower seed). Dried fruit and nuts should also be given daily. Avocado should never be given to parrots as it may be poisonous. Cabbage, Chocolate, Spicy, and fatty foods should also be avoided. Some pulses contain toxins too so please make sure you know which ones to feed the bird. For more information please contact us.
